I’ve been away from my desk for the last three weeks travelling. While I had the best intentions in the world to write to you weekly, that simple just didn’t happen. Before I left I was far too optimistic that, after a full day of wandering and exploring, I’d still have the brain capacity to sit down and share something meaningful with you.
However, I kept a small list of topics I wanted to write about, some of them are in draft mode, others are still outlined in notes and bullet points. I had spent time in Bangkok, Singapore — which is considered home to me — and Hong Kong (to be with family I’ve not seen in seven years.) All of this has stirred up a lot of emotions that I’m slowly trying to piece it together to share with you - elements of identity, family, and how you define “home” are trending themes at the moment.
Hopefully I can share these topics with you in the coming weeks. Kitchen Diaries will resume next week with an Asia culinary theme — think Kaya toast, Thai dishes (not just Phad Thai) and traditional eating houses such as hawker centres, food halls, and local Asian noodle shops.
Lots to come, keep an eye on your inbox.
Excited to read what you’ve got cookin’!
