The stress and joy of Christmas has officially arrived. Mulled wine and hot cider stands are getting adults drunk at 2pm and chocolate advent calendars are being mercilessly picked apart by impatient children.
Your wallet weeps as you click ‘buy’ at checkout, and your belly gets fatter as you eat another mince pie. I’ve been deep in the present-buying world, loading up my online baskets with big and small gifts for family and friends. I’ve got several lists going to keep track of all the things I’ve got to get done before Christmas - it seems to be a growing list of chores.
However, none of that matters because Christmas is all about food, friends and forgetting how crap the rest of the year probably was. I’ve got tonnes of recipes that I’ve saved for special occasions and I’m excited to share them with you.
Last week I focused on recipes that covered off all different kinds of sides dishes you could have at a dinner party. This time we look at desserts that you could easily put together for when you’ve got guests around; I’ve picked 10 recipes that I think are relatively easy to make, some of which can be prepared ahead of time and are genuine crowd-pleasers. I’ve made several of these so I promise I’m not lying!

As with all my recipe posts, I do want to hear from you - what desserts do you return to this time of the year?
I usually end up doing something apple or pumpkin because they’re easy. I’m going to print these ones out and see which my husband wants to try. Will be making something for our two year dating anniversary! Thanks for the recipes!!
Those gingerbread sandwich cookies 🤩 I used to love making gingerbread cookies but molasses is hard to find/expensive here so I don’t think I’ve ever made them since moving to Madrid!
I usually end up making a lot of cookies this time of year because they travel easily for dinner parties. It’s also easy to freeze cookie dough if we’re only making the recipe for ourselves--the cookies don’t go stale that way, and it’s so nice to just pop a couple of cookies from the freezer into the oven when you’re having a future craving!
